Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) 

Urinary Tract Infection is caused as a result of infections from microbes. Most of the UTI’s are caused due to bacteria, however, there are those caused by fungi and in some of the cases, by viruses. UTI can happen anywhere in the urinary tract. The urinary tract consists of kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. In most of the cases, UTI’s happen in the urethra and bladder, in the lower tract.

UTI Symptoms

The symptoms of UTI depends on which part the urinary tract has been infected. In case of infection in the lower tract, the urethra and the bladder get affected. The symptoms include

Causes of UTI

Uncontrolled diabetes

In the case of High blood sugar, the excess sugar is thrown out of the body through urine. The high blood sugar is a favourable environment which results in bacterial overgrowth.

Holding urine

Holding urine for prolonged time might lead to UTI. The bacteria in the urine that enters the bladder if held gets ample time to overgrow. Hence it is advised to pass urine at frequent intervals to avoid the risk of a urinary tract infection.
